LOCAL BUSINESSES SPONSOR CAB CHARITY
FISHING COMPETITION
Local Banbury businesses are working with Banbury Citizens Advice Bureau and supporting young people by sponsoring a fishing competition for to raise funds for the charity.
The competition is open to young people between the ages of 16 and 25, and is free to enter. It is being held at Grimsbury Reservoir on Saturday 30th June 2007, between 9am and 2pm.
Local businesses are helping raise money for the CAB by sponsoring fishing "pegs" and prizes for the competition. There are 52 places available for young people. First prize will be £125 and there are various other prizes. Refreshments will be available on the day.
The charity will use the funds raised to train additional volunteers as advisers and increase its capacity to see clients. Currently one third of those who visit the CAB offices are not seen.

Colin Henson, who is a volunteer adviser at the CAB, and the organiser of the event, says "This is a wonderful opportunity for young people to show how good an angler they are and at the same time help Banbury CAB. We are really looking forward to the event."
Last year Banbury CAB dealt with almost 12,500 enquiries, including requests for assistance with employment, debt, consumer and benefit problems.
